Vintage Design
Beautiful restored set of two nightstands or bedside tables in mahogany veneer and lovely executed faux painted walnut veneer front door made in former Czechoslovakia in December 1956. Ready to go in close to perfect condition absolutely clean without any odour or faul smell.
Well designed and made by famous UP Zavody most well known for its director and designer Jindrich Halabale since late 30s.
Nightstands were thoroughly cleaned, top, back, all inside including drawers and platform were sanded, re-stained to dark color where needed and completely re-coated with hard wax oil inside out. There were some light repairs to veneer and gluing, all metal handles dismantled and polished, those bear clear sign of age, one plastic cover has a chip, see detail photo. Around 14 hours of work. Original opaxit black glass substituted with identical new one. Exceptional in such a condition. Good size and height of 55 cm. Material blockboard frame, veneered on beech wood platform.
