Vintage Design
Teak side or coffee table. Design by Karl-Erik Ekselius for JOC – J.O. Carlsson, Sweden.
The table top is screwed onto the frame, which is mounted with 4 screws, making the large table easy to transport.
The stamp below the table top was photographed before and after (now a little blurry) it was applied with teak care products (see photos).
The Swedish furniture designer Karl-Erik Ekselius was born in Ålesund, Sweden, in 1914. He studied carpentry in Germany during the 1930s and at Carl Malmsten’s School of Furniture Studies in Stockholm. He then worked for J. O. Carlsson (later known as JOC Möbel AB) in Vetlanda and became the owner of the company in 1961. (Source: Pamono)
