Vintage Design
Nice pair of armchairs, model 45, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1947 and manufactured by Artek.
This pair is from the 1970s.
They have a birch plywood frame and still the original black webbing seat and backrest. The armrests are tightly wound in rattan.
Alvar Aalto used this model in his house and studio in Helsinki.
Beautiful chairs and comfortable seating.
The chairs are in good original condition. The frames are very good. The webbing has some traces of use at the sides of the backside, visible in the last photo. And from one chair the webbing on the backside has some slight discoloration.
