Late 19th Century Taishō or Shōwa Era Monochrome Silver Leaf Screen by Ueda Tangai

Beautiful antique Japanese monochrome byobu (screen) by a nanga artist Ueda Tangai (1863-1936) , depicting a peaceful landscape with ducks near a pond. Signed. 6 panels. Gouache, watercolor and ink on silver leaf over paper. Lacquered brown wood frame. Paper on back. Japan, Taishō or Shōwa Era, circa 1890-1920s. Good condition – some age wear, repair on 2nd panel, minor restoration work on few hinges, age patina on silver leaf.
