Green Floral Chiffon Sleeveless Handkerchief Dress w Flutter Capelet – XS, 1920s

Tea length sleeveless sheath dress with scooping front and back neckline. Floral skirt features eight draping handkerchief inserts around hips and behind knees; solid sleeveless bodice bias trimmed in matching floral pattern. Left side inset snap closure. Matching floral belt with double arabesque faux coral buckle surrounded by clear rhinestones; belt loop and waist snap to prevent sagging. Fluttering capelet with rolled tie closure at sternum. Dress, handkerchief insets and wrap all picot edged. Straight nude spaghetti strap slip; overhead construction with no closures of any kind.

noteworthy: CLEANING IS NOT RECOMMENDED, except for slip; after wearing turn outer dress/capelet inside out and steam only.
alterations: completely restored: new bodice and slip made from original patterns, skirt handkerchiefs resewn, belt reconstructed. One handkerchief on rear left of skirt patched.
condition: good but fragile; the utmost care must be taken with the floral dress and jacket as the chiffon is stable but finer than any modern chiffon due to its extreme quality. Rear left skirt handkerchief could not be restored and is therefore patched with original fabric and identical pattern matching.
