Iconic and rare Hans J. Wegner coffee table in solid teakwood, oak and rattan cane made by cabinetmaker Andreas Tuck, Odense, Denmark. This model “AT-10” is one of Wegner’s most sought after coffee tables and has not been in production since the early 1970s. The combination of oak and teak is typical for 1950s Danish Modern furniture and is often seen in designs of Wegner, Finn Juhl, Arne Vodder etc. The solid teak top has a raised sculptural edging – a elegant and practical detail. The rattan shelf is beautifully patinated and without any breaks in the cane. Stamped by maker underneath. Although there is little to no historical information available regarding the Danish furniture manufacturer Andreas Tuck, the company produced designs that epitomized the classic Danish modern style, through the use of quality materials and skilled craftsmanship. Particularly active in the 1950s and ‘60s, Andreas Tuck’s most notable designer was Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007), who designed tables for Andreas Tuck that exuded elegance and Nordic functionality.
