early 19th century hand painted swedish folk art coffer circa 1810. good quality swedish blanket chest presented in original paint with hand painted floral wreath to the front, initials and date of 1810. slight rounded top opens to reveal a plain pine interior and storage trough. tapering sides lead down the bracket feet. original strap work and handles. minor evidence of dead/treated worm which is to be expected of pine this age. minor losses and non structural age splits. no key. strong and sturdy and ready for use.
