Exported from Oaxaca, Mexico. Oaxaca a thriving representation of folk-arts. A large scale crying face planter with a pre drilled drain hole. Excellent condition. New production ceramic. Appears slightly darker in person.

Very Unique Burgandy Chinese Famille Hexagon Rose Planter.

And two of the sides have images of people. These images wraparound to cover a part of the other sides. One portrays Warriors, on horses doing battle, the other shows people eating and celebrating. The other sides have a Burgandy background with birds flying. There is a lot of purple throughout this planter, which is one of the things that makes it so unique. I actually thought the background was purple until I looked at my photos carefully and it’s probably actually more of a red than a purple. The top ridge of the planter and the saucer are decorated and so are the sides of the saucer. There is a red mark on the bottom, but I was not able to identify it, using my marks on Chinese ceramics by Gerald Davidson book.

Condition: very good condition. Some of the paint has been rubbed off overtime.

A stunning antique 19th Century French wrought iron footed jardiniere / cachepot / planter / wine cooler / champagne ice bucket. This stylish jardiniere has a lovely scroll design with flower accents in a beautiful aged patina. A custom copper liner has been hand crafted for this jardiniere, making it ideal as a planter or wine cooler, large enough to hold several bottles of wine. It would also be lovely filled with decorative items.

The copper insert measures approximately 19.5″W x 7.75″D x 6.25″H. The jardiniere measures 22.75″W x 9.5″D x 13″H.
