A lovely antique early 20th Century Dutch Maastricht white ironstone wall lavabo fountain. Maker’s mark on reverse. The wash basin or lavabo was a typical piece found in French homes before running water was available. This decorative four-piece set is complete with basin, reservoir with metal spout, lid, and soap dish and would be a charming addition to any room. The basin could also be used as a planter to hold flowers.

The water reservoir/urn with lid measures 12″W x 18″H x 7″D (out from wall). The cistern or planter pocket measures about 13″W x 4″H x 10″D (out from wall). The soap dish measures 4.75″W x 1.75″H x 3.5″D.

Very Unique Burgandy Chinese Famille Hexagon Rose Planter.

And two of the sides have images of people. These images wraparound to cover a part of the other sides. One portrays Warriors, on horses doing battle, the other shows people eating and celebrating. The other sides have a Burgandy background with birds flying. There is a lot of purple throughout this planter, which is one of the things that makes it so unique. I actually thought the background was purple until I looked at my photos carefully and it’s probably actually more of a red than a purple. The top ridge of the planter and the saucer are decorated and so are the sides of the saucer. There is a red mark on the bottom, but I was not able to identify it, using my marks on Chinese ceramics by Gerald Davidson book.

2. Do a Google search for the name of the item.

3. Do a search for the item by name on Chairish and another similar site.

Since I am being fair with my pricing, I want you to know how to do this. It will only help me by validating my pricing choices, and hopefully it will help you to recognize items that are overpriced.

Looking very alert, this pair of American concrete deer statues dates to the 1940’s-50’s. Having been protected by trees, they retain much of their original paint, but also have the wonderful weathered look that you can only get with age.. These were made when concrete statues were reinforced with rebar. Antlers are solid metal and the painting details are exceptional. The eyes have pupils and what you can’t see is that they each have a white underbelly.
