19th C Painted Swedish Wood Box

Charming Swedish wood trunk in original hand painted finish. This example is a nice diminutive size, making it perfect to use as a coffee table or just as a decorative objet. The box is in good condition, showing expected cosmetic wear, normal and consistent with age. I believe it had handles on the sides, no longer present. Also, the key is missing, and a long time ago, someone put a screw into the lock mechanism to keep it from locking – please see images.
We think this is Swedish in origin and 19th C vintage, however we are not experts in this period, or style of furniture.
