Incredible one of a kind nude portrait study on paper from Judy Horowitz. Purchase years ago directly from her estate in Maryland. Love the details. She added small stickers to some of her works with quotes. All rather melancholy – “and so I cry behind it.”

A large charcoal drawing on paper signed Jason Berger, 1962. The framed dimension is 28×35 inches. Matte black wood frame, glass glazing, with 8-ply laid finish mat.

Jason Berger (1924-2010) studied under Karl Zerbe (German), at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston becoming part of the Boston Expressionism school. His work was widely exhibited in museums and galleries. He has works in the permanent collection of the Guggenheim, The Museum of Modern Art, and several Massachusetts museums including the Danforth Museum of Art and Smith College Museum of Art.
