The full title is ‘A New & Accurate Description of all the Direct and Principal Cross Roads in England & Wales, and part of the roads of Scotland.’ Published under the authority of the Postmaster General by Messrs Longman, Hurts, Rees, Orme and Brown of London. Authored by Lieutenant-Colonel Daniel Paterson (1738 – 1825), Assistant Quartermaster General of His Majesty’s Forces – at time of publishing, King George III.

Here’s a wonderful 1920s photo journey to Antartica, Africa, and beyond in, ‘The Wonderful Book of The Wild, The Romance of Exploration.’. The excellent First Edition of the 256-page pictorial hardcover was edited by Harry Golding. A stated Third Edition, this was published by War, Lock & Co., Ltd. London and Melbourn. There is no copyright date, but presumed from the 1920s.There are many black-and-white photos and 13 colour plates. With visits to Mt. Everest, the Jungles of Borneo, Peru, Australia, Labrador (and more). The stunning 100-year-old photographs display natives, wild animals and unspoiled lands. The endpapers are by the famed cartoonist, Thomas Maybank. This book is in excellent vintage/antique condition. The text, art and photos are clean, bright and unmarked. This is a handsome book to display on coffee table or shelf, but also a time-travel back to nature, when it was mostly unscathed. The large book will be carefully packed and sent with tracking. A joy to behold.

What a delight! Raggedy Ann and Any stories come alive in this scarce, animated, 1944 children’s book. The charming, spiral-bound.vintage hardcover features creator Johnny Gruelle’s famous sibs and a host of colorful animals, including a Dragon.. But this special First Edition also includes Six moveables, with pull tabs that animate the characters. All six tabs are present here, and all of them and the un-numbered pages are in clean, bright and unmarked condition. Animator Julian Wehr also illustrated some of the characters. The green and white tabs are found at the bottom of six pages. The book was published by Saalfield Publishing Co. The only note is the mild wear along the cover edges.. An Amazing gift! This children’s book may not be just for children – but for Raggedy Ann collectors and those whose inner-child loved the Raggedy stories. The book will be packed carefully and sent with tracking.
